The open cluster NGC 6709 was observed in the V and R filters using the 0.4-m David Derrick Telescope of the Orson Pratt Observatory at Brigham Young University. The cluster was monitored over 5 nights for a total of 25 hours. Observations were taken at a rate of approximately one frame every 2 minutes. Exposure lengths were selected to obtain optimal exposure for stars in the A-F spectral range of the main sequence. We will present the results of our search for new variables in this cluster.
