Results are presented from a UBV photometric study of five northern Be stars. It is found that the variation of Omicron And, LQ And, and possibly KX And and EW Lac, is periodic. No periodicity was observed for KY And. The light curves of the stars are discussed. Only two of the models considered account for the short-term variability observed in the stars. The nonradial pulsator requires special assumptions to explain nonsinusoidal light curves. Also, it is difficult to explain the abrupt change in the light curve of EW Lac with the magnetic oblique rotator model.
