The authors present new Strömgren photometry and medium-dispersion spectroscopy of the early-type binary V1182 Aql. The masses and radii of the two components are found to be (37.8±1.6) and (13.5±0.5) solar masses and (8.8±0.2) and (5.9±0.1) solar radii, respectively. A lower limit to the primary temperature has been established and interpretation of the evolutionary status of the system is closely linked to the adopted primary temperature.
