Nine basalts which occur as flows in the Middle Lava series of the
Antrim Plateau have been analysed chemically and spectrographically.
Seven of the specimens come from the complete flow succession in the
neighbourhood of the Giant's Causeway. The petrochemistry of the major
and trace elements is discussed.
