A Population II, 1.3M &sun;, pre-helium flash, red-giant model is investigated with respect to the influence of inclusion of relativistic gas characteristics, i.e., the equations of state, entropy, specific heats, and the adiabatic gradient. Little change is found in the observable properties of the model, but slightly large changes are found in the interior properties, the most important of which is the narrowing of the already thin radiative zone between the hydrogen burning shell and the extensive outer convective envelope from 9.6 to 8.0 density scale heights.
