This paper presents a model cosmology simple enough to be used for physics or astronomy students who lack a background in general relativity, or for general realtivity students to clarify some of the essential concepts found there. A rubber band, marked with dot galaxies, stretched at a constant rate illustrates and clarifies, without the machinery of general relativity, several expanding universe concepts usually reserved for general relativity. Such concepts are the distinction between physical and coordinate distance, variation in light speed, the look-back paradox, and different time scales used to measure the age of the universe. All results are then backed up by standard general relativistic calculations.
