A numerical simulation of the circulation in the envelope of a contact binary system resulting from its baroclinic atmosphere is tested with 2-D general hydrodynamical equations neglecting Coriolis effect. It is an important problem how to give initial fields of temperature and pressure in the calculation model. The smooth discontinuity method made a static equilibrium in each component of the Roche lobe at an initial time respectively. In this case, there is a discontinuity on the neck section just like a sluice gate between components.
