Based on Krylov-Bogolyubov's approach to the description of weakly nonlinear oscillatory processes, we analyze the nonstationary frequency-amplitude structure of the solar activity on large time scales. Using the nonlinear description and Schove's data on the epochs of extrema of 11-year solar cycles in the past, we reconstruct the yearly average Wolf numbers in 1100-1700. We discuss the agreement between the derived series and circumstantial evidence and the satisfaction of Gnevyshev-Ohl's rule in the past 900 years.
