Surface albedo variations in the region encompassing Solis Lacus, Thaumasia, Claritas, and Daedelia are observed from photographs taken in 1941, 1969 (by Mariner 7), 1971, and 1973, and from maps drawn in 1877 and 1926. Similarities and differences among the photographs and maps are discussed, and it is noted that the variations are not random, but tend to repeat, sometimes after long time intervals.
