A 60 cm normal objective prism has been mounted with the Schmidt telescope (focal distance: 208 cm; plate: 60 cm) at the Observatoire de Haute Provence. The prism comprises a Flint C 2036 and a Crown Baryum C2957 with a common angle of 12 deg 15 sec. Plates made with the device have revealed a new blue halo star with a radial velocity of -153 km/sec. The stellar coordinates (1950) are: right ascension - 8 h 13 mn; declination - 75 deg 56 sec. The magnitude is 10.5. Results of a spectrophotometric study of the star are discussed.
