We use orthonormal functions to fit the local systematic errors in radio catalogues and determine the direction of the axes of a synthesized catalogue by the coordinates of all the sources contained in the individual catalogues. The concept of the synthesis is clear and the amount of computing required is small. Results of checking show that the synthesized catalogue is both reliable and stable.
