A new method for filling gaps in time series is introduced which uses a prediction method for the evolution of a dynamical system. This method is based on the existence of an attractor for the system. Efficiency of the method is shown with a torus and a Roessler chaotic attractor. Application to an RV Tauri variable star light curve is made. The results show that this method allows us to fill gaps of several periods. i.e., to identify and decrease aliases in frequency domain, if sufficiently long time sequences are used to faithfully reconstruct the attractor.
