A new mechanism of releasing gravitational energy in curved space-time is presented which is different from the Penrose process, the Starobinsky-Unruh process, or the Hawking evaporation process. The existence of this process is proved for the specific instances of the Kerr and the Schwarzschild metrics, and formulas for the net energy released are obtained.
