We present results from a study of the Cosmic X-ray Background (CXB) spectrum performed with the MECS on board the BeppoSAX satellite. The instrumental background, which accounts for about 50% of the total background in the MECS band (1.5-10 keV), has been measured by accumulating 1.8 Ms of dark earth data. The CXB spectrum has been measured on 15 high latitude (bII>25 deg) blank fields for a total integration time of 1.5 Ms. We compare our findings with previous observations from other satellites.
