We have constructed a new database of galaxies at redshifts higher than z = 1 for which spectroscopic information is available. The purpose of the database is to collect relevant information about the high-z Universe in order to draw a picture of galaxy evolution. The format of the database makes it easier to search for the data which are currently available in the literature. You can search the High-z Database for galaxies within a certain redshift range and in a given hemisphere. The database also provides information such as colors, spectral features, star formation rate and other properties. The spectrum of the galaxy is shown when available, as well as links to the original papers. The information was retrieved from databases of astrophysics articles (astro-ph and the NASA Astrophysics Data System) using relevant keywords in their search engines. It is possible for everyone to contribute to the high-z database interactively on its website. The information will be checked by us before appearing in the database. This will allow the database to grow and be of further use to the high-z community. The database is located at http://www.oso.chalmers.se/ ~highz.
