An intensive study is conducted of the faults and grabens within and surrounding the Tharsis region that encompasses the whole western hemisphere of Mars. Determinations are made of the regional, spatial, and temporal relations of features within the surrounding geology. A total of 24,000 structures within most of the Mars western hemisphere have been mapped, characterized, and dated.
