A careful determination of effective temperatures and surface gravities of the brightest members of the galacitic cluster NGC 2301 by means of model atmospheres and optical/UV spectrograms is presented. By comparison with evolutionary stellar tracks in the log T(eff)-log g plane it is found that the main sequence phase extends far beyond the limit predicted by the classical stellar models. Instead, only calculations which assume considerable overshoot in the convective stellar cores are consistent with the analysis.
