Neutral hydrogen maps of the peculiar early-type galaxy NGC 3718 have been made with the Half-Mile telescope at Cambridge and an extension towards the nearby galaxy NGC 3729 is found. Radio continuum observations of the two galaxies at different frequencies are also presented, together with an optical radial velocity measurement for NGC 3729. Faint H I emission has been detected from NGC 3729, confirming that its radial velocity is similar to that of NGC 3718, and supporting the suggestions that the warping of NGC 3718 is due to a gravitational encounter with NGC 3729.
