We present the first comprehensive, deep, narow-band, visual wavelength imaging surveys of entire giant molecular clouds in Hα and [SII]. The 8192 by 8192 pixel MOSAIC cameras were used on the KPNO 0.9 m, the KPNO 4 m, and the CTIO 4 m telescopes to survey portions of the Serpens, Cepheus, and Taurus molecular clouds, and the entire Perseus, Orion A, and Orion B molecular clouds. We cataloged hundreds of new protostellar outflows and their shocks, dozens of reflection nebulae, and produced a data base suitable for the identification of thousands of Hα emission-line stars. We have found outflows with spatial extents greater than 10 pc. The new data provides evidence that protostellar outflows play an important role in determining cloud structure and kinematics, in regulating their evolution, and in generating turbulent internal motions. In regions with substantial low-mass star formation activity activity, outflows can completely disrupt the cloud.
