Constant pressure and conductive flux in the transition region and constant temperature and hydrostatic equilibrium in the corona are assumed to allow the use of simple formulas to derive the brightness temperature. Contributions to the brightness temperature from the transition region and corona are compared. Three of the very few available observations in the relevant frequency range are used to deduce a model of these two regions for solar activity minima, which turns out to be quite similar to UV and X-ray models of coronal holes.
