The long-term evolution of the polar magnetic field at the coronal base
induced by the first Rossby mode demonstrates the reversal of the
line-of-sight magnetic field component in polar caps and what is more
the same line-of-sight magnetic polarities in both caps (“the
line-of-sight solar magnetic monopole”) at the moment of reversal.
