Radiative Transfer: Water Vapor, Radiative Transfer: Carbon Dioxide
Scientific paper
A model of the absorption coefficient cumulative distribution function for a wide band spectral interval is presented. The dominant bands of water vapor and carbon dioxide are classified into three important categories, depending on the number and interaction of the participating vibrational transitions within the considered spectral interval. Limiting models for the absorption coefficient cumulative distribution function are proposed for small and large pressures and compared with exact line-by-line calculations. The model results in large and small pressure limits and for temperatures up to 1000 K are in good agreement with exact calculations.
