A mathematical model of quadruple overlapping in a limited sky field has been developed using plates obtained with the Zeiss wide-angle (40/200) astrograph of the Main Astronomical Observatory of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. On the basis of the mathematical model, it is shown that the rms error of the quadruple overlapping field is 1.8 times less than the rms error of a single overlapping field. A procedure to eliminate the magnitude equation from stellar position calculations is also described.
