We have studied a model of a nonlinear, axisymmetric α-ω
galactic dynamo acting on a mixed field (quadrupole and dipole) in the
geometry of an oblate spheroid. Our calculations demonstrate that the
nonlinear interaction between modes of opposite parity can result in a
time-dependent mixed mode solution.
