The observed data on the prompt radio burst from SN 1987A is re-analyzed in terms of the spectral evolution with time. The data is consistent with the existence of two components having independent temporal histories. One of these can be associated with synchrotron emission from electrons injected by the leaked relativistic jets of the central neutron star.
