The author considers particle transport and radiative transfer in a Markovian mixture of two immiscible fluids. An earlier reported balance equation for the ensemble-averaged intensity is rederived in a manner that generalizes to a derivation of a higher order balance-like equation for interface intensities. A closure is made in this higher order equation to obtain a relatively simple model for linear transport in a stochastic mixture, including the scattering interaction. This extends an earlier model that results from a lower order closure in the balance equation itself. Numerical results are given that compare the predictions of this model of stochastic transport with benchmark results available in the literature, as well as with predictions of the earlier model.
