High dispersion spectra of the K 5V star Epsilon Indi (HD 209100) are analyzed relative to the sun by means of model calculations. For this 3.51 pc distant star a surface gravity of log g equals 4.65 plus or minus 0.15 is obtained from the mass luminosity relation. Broad band photometry leads to an effective temperature of 4510 plus or minus 100 K, while the photospheric temperature stratification of Epsilon Indi is determined from the profiles of strong Fe I lines. Among 31 elements investigated, 8 show spectral lines in two ionized states, yielding a greater abundance for the ionized as compared to the neutral states. Abundance anomalies were found very similar to the Ba IIand CH-stars.
