The 24 and 70 micron survey of the Galactic plane(10<|l|<60, |b|<1) with the Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer (MIPSGAL) has revealed numerous loops, circumstellar shells, and bubbles, many of which have not previously been recognized. We present images of a representative sample of these objects, along with an estimate of their color characteristics from comparison with the corresponding images from the Galactic Legacy Infrared Mid-Plane Survey Extraordinaire (GLIMPSE).
This work is based on observations made with the Spitzer Space Telescope, which is operated by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology under a contract with NASA. Support for this work was provided by NASA through an award issued by JPL/Caltech.
