A microcomputer-based system is described which can monitor and control a variety of instruments and detectors commonly used with optical telescopes. The system is composed of a DEC LSI-11/02 computer and modular, commercially available, industrial quality interface hardware. The data-acquisition system can be purchased as a complete, tested system or by components and configured in-house.
