A microcomputer-based digital image-display system is described. Its key features are 16-level false color representation, image-region magnification, and flexible-image file formats. The program is written in C, using off-the-shelf graphics drivers for an IBM PC XT/AT. The system provides a very inexpensive image-display system and has proven useful for image analysis when used in conjunction with programs such as DAOPHOT running on VAX computers.
