Distributions of probabilities of quadratic functionals formed in optimal reception are derived for the actual conditions of astrophysical observations taking into account the quantum effects and registration noise. The detection characteristics of optimal reception are studied on the basis of these distributions; a procedure is developed for estimating their potential for the detection of astrophysical objects observed through a turbulent atmosphere.
