Some of the first maps of meteor radiant distributions obtained from a
new microprocessor-based radar system are presented. Although the
present maps suffer from astigmatism, it is shown how this may be
minimized in future implementations and also how the method can be
extended to obtain velocities and hence meteor orbits.
