The paper presents a direct method for calculating, in initial space-time, the position and velocity vectors of unidentified artificial celestial bodies in the framework of the generalized problem of two fixed centers using measurements of angular coordinates. It is concluded that the elements of the preliminary orbits of artificial earth satellites determined from optical observations in models of intermediate motion are more effective than Keplerian orbital elements in calculating search ephemerides and refining the preliminary satellite orbits.
