A method is proposed which, for arbitrarily specified even and positive multiplicity, makes it possible to determine a class of differential equations that are satisfied by the complete class of potentials generating a velocity field of the given multiplicity. The proposed method does not establish the unknown forms of the potentials themselves, but merely yield equations for them. It is noted that the gradient in the field of directions along the normal to a trajectory can be determined, and the structure of the field of directions investigated, by solving the resultant equations for the potentials.
