A matrix method of solution is suggested for a linear transfer problem for noncoherent scattering in a semi-infinite medium. Approximation of the redistribution function by a finite sum and a modification involving the discrete ordinate method make it possible to solve the problem for a number of redistribution laws. The one- and three-dimensional cases are considered separately. Some numerical results are included.
