We propose to obtain spectroscopic redshifts for the brightest 8 galaxies in each of three candidate clusters discovered during a weak lensing survey of the regions around z ~ 0.2 ``normal" clusters conducted with the 4M+BTC. Each of these candidates is associated with an enhancement of 18< R< 22 elliptical galaxies, presumably representing the cluster members. Our firm detection of these clusters via lens- induced shear opens up the possibility of surveying a mass-selected sample of galaxy clusters, avoiding bias associated with samples selected via baryonic properties of the galaxies or the X-ray gas. Unfortunately, the redshift of these structures cannot be precisely determined by the lensing data alone. We therefore will obtain spectra of the brightest galaxies in the candidate clusters to determine the redshift, and verify that these are indeed clusters. This redshift will also set the mass calibration of the structures, which is essential for cosmological interpretation of our data.
