A low noise heterodyne receiver with a superconductor insulator superconductor junction as the mixing element has been built and tested in the 30 m radiotelescope at Pico Veleta in South Spain. This receiver is tunable over most of the atmospheric window between the absorption lines of oxygen at 118 GHz and water at 183 GHz. The receiver double sideband noise temperature varies from about 140 K for the lower frequencies to 250 K toward the high frequency end of the band.
