The pulsating X-ray binary system Hercules X-1 has been studied at 4.76 GHz for 35 days using the NRAO 300-ft radio telescope. At no time was any emission detected and an upper limit of 2 mJy was found for any emission in phase with the 35-day X-ray cycle. This result, combined with other observations, suggests that pulsating X-ray binary systems, unlike nonpulsating systems, are probably not radio sources.
