Five scenarios are described which consider the confrontation of today's mankind with other intelligences at varying levels of technological advancement through radio contact, cybernetic intermediaries, and physical contact. A sixth examines the development of an interstellar flight capability during the next century without the influence of co-intelligences. The development of a planetella 'Androcell', a modular multi-g structure capable of entering circumsolar orbits in the inner solar system is outlined. Fundamental trends in the evolution of the living universe during the next 25 billion years are delineated and contrasted with the evolution of an inanimate universe on the basis of the opposite entropic behavior of living and non-living matter.
