Indeterminacy of the eclipse parameters of Tau Persei from the incomplete 1984 and 1989 eclipse observations is illustrated. It was shown that the solution given by Hall et al. (1991) is irrelevant for the system. Due to high eccentricity (e is approximately equal to 0.73) and the present value of the longitude of periastron (omega is approximately equal to 235 deg) the secondary eclipse is unlikely to occur, unless (R1 + R2) is greater than 915 cos i. Good-quality observations (photometric and spectroscopic), particularly around mideclipse, and external contact points of the upcoming March 1993 primary eclipse may remove the indeterminacy of eclipse parameters.
