We present some early results from a deep KECK-DEIMOS spectroscopic survey of 2000 z > 3.5 galaxies in the Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) field. The extensive COSMOS photometric data set has provided us with one of the largest samples of galaxies at 3.5 < z < 6, identified using photometric redshifts as well as Lyman Break Galaxies (LBG), Lyman Alpha Emitters (LAE), Balmer Break Galaxies (BBGs), Sub-mm, Radio and X-ray sources. The spectra are deep enough to identify rest frame ultraviolet absorption features in the spectra, facilitating more detailed studies at high redshift. We present early results from the first 15% of the survey. These include a direct constraint on the amount of obscured star formation at z 5 from sub-mm selected samples, constraints on the evolution of the galaxy mass and luminosity function, and selection effects in LBG and photo-z selections.
