This spectrum of the K2 3p star, Arcturus, was obtained using a highly sensitive rocket-borne spectrograph with a multi-element microchannel plate detector. The results of this observation are: (1) the detection of emissions of the H1 L alpha and O1 1304 A bands, and the O1 1356 A band which has previously been undetected; (2) the detection of a broad unresolved emission extending from approximately 1460 A to 1560 A and centered at 1510 A; (3) the determination of low upper limits to emissions present on the sun but undetected or unresolved on Arcturus; (4) the calculation of coronal base pressure upper limits which indicate the possibility of a pressure which may be lower than previously determined; and (5) the cross calibration of other Arcturus data. The two measurements of L alpha agree within ten percent of each other.
