With the simple stellar population synthesis to model the stellar contribution in the optical spectrum of a narrow line Seyfert 1 galaxy RE J1034+396, we find that its stellar velocity dispersion is 72kms with an uncertainty less than 8 kms. The black hole mass is 2.2× 10^6 msun if it follows the mbh-σ relation. The mass determination suggests that its X-ray quasi-periodic oscillations(QPOs) given by Gierlinski et al. belongs to a high-frequency QPO.
