We have obtained emission line and continuum CCD images of the suspected Herbig-Haro (HH) object GGD 17. GGD 17 departs from the T Tauri star Bretz 4 as a jet with both intrinsic HH emission and scattered light components, extending respectively up to about 12 and 60 arcsec from the star. A curved chain of HH knots approximately pointing towards Bretz 4/GGD 17 is detected on the emission line images. If the chain of HH objects is related to Bretz 4 and GGD 17, the system would represent a fine example of a discontinuous, collimated bending jet. The total length of the system, about 180 arcsec, corresponds to about 0.72 pc at a distance of 830 pc to Monoceros R2, so that the HH flow would be one of the largest among those associated with low luminosity premain-sequence stars. In addition, we present new spectroscopy and the first UBVRI photometry of Bretz 4. The star has a rich emission line spectrum, corresponding to class 5 of strong-line T Tauri stars.
