The microscopic shell model theory of α-decay is reviewed and resonance formulas for α-rates of heaviest deformed nuclei are derived within the framework of multichannel resonance scattering approach. The very sharp α-resonances observed in current reactions with accelerated heavy ions may be interpreted as levels of reaction product and such a connection contributes directly to decay and in-beam studies of the nuclear structure. The reliability of results is proved by a comparison with the decay data and relevant approaches.
