In this contribution we present the results of a full simulation thatevaluates the possibility to use the Cesium Iodide (CsI) shield/collimator assembly of the EXIST mission to measure the energy spectra of Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs). The combination of CZT (Cadmium Zinc Telluride) detectors and the CsI shield displays great potential as an extremely powerful GRB detector. We will present the results of a full simulation of the telescope and discuss the exciting scientific questions that can be addressed with the instrument.
