A three-dimensional model is considered of spiral arms, which are in the form of logarithmic spirals in the galactic plane and falling off exponentially in the perpendicular direction. An analytic solution of the gravitational potential corresponding to this density perturbation is derived. The effect of the finite thickness on the spiral pattern and the question of stability of the spiral arms are discussed.
