The NGC 1566 spiral pattern is modelled upon data on H II regions with account of their specific arrangement in the arms. The corotation radius is found to be 66arcsec±10arcsec, the pattern speed Ωp = 24±3 km/s/kpc. It is suggested that the centrifugal instability in the internal H II ring (R = 35arcsec) may excite the bright arms.
