A family of exact solutions is obtained to the Einstein field equations for a metric with rotation for a matter-filled universe. The equations contain an energy-momentum tensor of sufficiently general form. The family depends on a functional parameter defined as one of the real roots of a fourth-degree algebraic equation with known coefficients. For each solution of the family, the lines of equal mass density are interpreted as the permissible equilibrium configurations of such rotating supermassive objects as pulsars, quasars, and galactic nuclei.
