The Fabry-Perot filter, spectrophotometer optics and electronic circuitry and mechanical parts of the system are discussed in detail, along with the detection system. Three-point scanning and continuous scanning techniques are explained and illustrated, with examples of applications. A new type of tilt-filter photometer designed for the 182 cm telescope is described. Spectra taken in observations of the comet Kohoutek, various planetary and stellar atmospheres, and the Orion Nebula are displayed.
